Charles is the President's personal aide, though Margaret
handles most of his needs. He spend the majority of his time working for White House Chief-of-Staff, Jed Bartlet. His normal secretary is Nancy. The two of them have a father-son relationship that is compounded by the fact
that Charlie is dating Jed's daughter, Zoey. Charlie is loyal to both of his bosses and would go to the wall for them. He also is the primary caregiver of
his younger sister Deanna, who spends a lot of her time at the Bartlet home.
